Our History

---

In 1997 we partnered with NOVA Southeastern University to provide Mental Health counseling internships to their graduate students and continue to do so over the years. We have also received interns from St. Thomas University, Liberty University, and other universities.

We are a family operation in many ways. Several of our therapists have been with us for many years. Our clinical staff consists of Master Level and/or Licensed Therapists, Certified Addiction professionals, and Domestic Violence counselors with numerous years of experience.

In 2004, two long time therapists at DFC, Jose Garcia and Raul Vidal assumed the positions of Program Director and Clinical Director respectively. Our therapists and interns continue to provide services under the supervision of the licensed therapists with the upmost commitment to establish confidentiality and a fair balance in helping our clients while keeping our responsibilities with the courts. Over 25 years after our foundation, we continue to feel that DFC is the most professional, clinical, and effective counseling program in Miami-Dade County.
