DFC specializes in providing outpatient treatment programs for clients with substance abuse issues. We pride ourselves in conducting a thorough assessment and tailoring our services to meet the client's needs. Our assessments include a clinical interview, which consists of a Bio-psychosocial assessment designed to individualize client's treatment.
Clients are regularly tested for alcohol and randomly tested for illegal drugs. Clients are also required to attend alcoholic anonymous (AA) or narcotics anonymous (NA). The length of treatment is individually determined based on client’s needs and the severity of the problem. Special arrangements can be made for drug court clients or individuals that need more intensive therapy.

This intervention consists of a clinical interview and a mental status examination conducted by Licensed Psychotherapists. Its primary goal is to identify if there is a need for a more intensive modality, like a Psychiatric Evaluation and Pharmacotherapy. Most of the time clients are experiencing daily, living problems that could be addressed through only Psychotherapy. Therapy is usually short-term, in which client a will be taught coping strategies and therefore they could avoid more expensive and unnecessary interventions such as occasional Psychiatric medications.
However, if the condition of the client would require pharmacotherapy, referrals to Licensed Psychiatrists or C.M.H.C. will be provided to compliment the psychotherapy. This program accepts court-ordered and voluntary clients where the fees for the sessions are based on a sliding fee scale and client’s income.

Our Drug Testing program was designed to provide drug detection and the interpretation of the results for individual clients, concerned parents who suspect their children might be using, employer assistant programs and other entities. With the required confidentiality our program offers comprehensive, cost effective drug and alcohol testing options with On-site tests with immediate results or laboratory tests (SAMHSA certified testing lab) using the Chain of Custody method (accepted by the court system).
Our process utilizes urine specimen to detect the presence of =drugs such as: Alcohol, Cocaine, Marijuana, Amphetamines, PCP, Opiates, and others. We also offer more specialized tests to detect other substances like Steroids or Synthetic Marijuana.

Certified Batterer’s Intervention Program through the Department of Children and Families and the Criminal Justice System. We provide psycho- educational groups to individuals who are abusive to partners in an intimate relationship. We provide services in English and Spanish. The clients are required to attend an assessment/enrollment, one orientation and twenty-four group sessions. Utilizing the Duluth Model of Power and Control, this program addresses the belief system behind the batterer’s behavior and teaches behaviors conductive to equality in relationships. The program assists the client in developing non-violent or non-abusive techniques to resolve conflicts.

The anger management program offers psycho- educational groups that are designed for men and women who are involved in a violent incident with people in which they are not engaged in an intimate relationship.
DFC offers an initial assessment followed by structured psycho- educational sessions leading to identifying dysfunctional anger management styles and developing non- violent and productive anger management techniques. The length of treatment is 12 sessions.

DFC accepts voluntary clients as well as clients from various referral sources including Employee Assistance Programs, Department of Children and Families, Department of Corrections and the Courts. We work hand in hand with all our referral sources, and professionally and ethically maintain them informed of the client’s progress as established by program guidelines.

The parenting skills groups offer an initial assessment and structured psycho- educational sessions leading to identify dysfunctional parenting styles and developing non-violent and productive parenting techniques that are not abusive or detrimental to the child. The length of treatment is 12 sessions.

Our accredited staff provides clients with mental evaluations and therapy for those who need to address individual, couples, or family issues in a professional, safe, and confidential environment.
